Lucknow: Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel inaugurated the ‘Aalambhan Sangathan Charitable Trust’ at Raj Bhavan, formed with the objective of human organ donation and health care of young women. On this occasion, the Governor directed the members of the Trust to spread awareness about organ donation in the society and discussed the outline of various strategies to reach out to the people on this subject, and also released the letter of purpose of the organization.
The Governor said that organ donation not only saves the lives of ailing persons, but it also sends a message of humanity and sensitivity in the society. She emphasized on the effective use of social media to spread awareness on this subject. She suggested the production of small motivational short films and said that these films should be shown at large public places, hospitals and medical institutions, so that people can understand the importance of organ donation and the facts related to it.
The Governor emphasized that there is a need to remove the religious beliefs and misconceptions prevalent in the society regarding organ donation. She said that there is a need to explain to the society that there is no harm in organ donation, rather it is a pious act of saving lives. She said that effective communication and awareness campaigns should be run to change religious and social beliefs in a positive direction.
Along with honoring the organ donors, the Governor also suggested inviting organ donors and organ recipients through hospitals to share their experiences and spread awareness.
The Governor said that it is necessary to create a sense of sensitivity in patients and society. She said that to awaken this feeling, such examples should be presented where a person’s life has been saved and their family has been prevented from becoming orphan. This can emotionally inspire people to come forward for organ donation.
The Governor praised the efforts of Aalamban Sangathan Charitable Trust and called upon the members of the trust to work continuously in this direction and connect all sections of the society. She said that this initiative will not only increase awareness towards organ donation, but will also help in building a healthy society.
It is known that the scope of Aalambaan Sangathan Charitable Trust is to educate and spread awareness among the people in the society about various aspects of the health of adolescent girls and young women and their health problems and their solutions. Girls and women have to face serious problems like anemia, sexual health, malnutrition and mental health.
Due to these problems, their physical and mental development is hindered. Apart from this, there is also a need to spread awareness among young girls about iron deficiency, hygiene, employment-related skills, and family welfare. Understanding all these needs of women and young girls, focusing on their health and welfare, the members of Aalambaan Sangathan Charitable Trust are playing an active and positive role.
Some members of the organization have already been active in the field of organ donation in Gujarat and have also been successful in giving new lives to hundreds of people through their contribution. This organization has been established taking inspiration from there. On this occasion, Chief Income Tax Commissioner (Retd.) Sandeep Kumar, Chairman, Department of Nephrology, SGPGI Lucknow Dr. Narayan Prasad, Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, KGMU Dr. Sujata Dev, Consultant Physician, Raj Bhavan Lucknow Dr. Narendra Dev along with other doctors and all the dignitaries of Aalban Sangathan Charitable Trust were present.
