Book cafe will be built for students in Butler Palace

– Under the Green Corridor Project, obstacles coming in the way of ROB construction and widening of dam from Pakka Pul to Daliganj and Nishatganj to Kukrail will be removed

Lucknow: ‘Butler Palace’ built in Rajasthani style in Lucknow will now become the first choice of book lovers. Here a book cafe will be built in heritage look, where light and sound shows will be conducted along with photo gallery. Apart from this, colorful programs can be organized along with art and craft exhibition in lawn and open theater.

Presentation of the project was given in an important meeting held on Thursday in Parijat Auditorium of Lucknow Development Authority under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob. In this, other officers and engineers including India’s Enemy Property Custodian Rahul Ramesh Nangre and LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar were present.

In the meeting, LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said that the Authority is carrying out the conservation work of Butler Palace at a cost of about Rs 5 crore. The work of its external and internal area will be completed soon. He gave a presentation of the proposed activities in Butler Palace. In which it was proposed to operate Butler Palace as a VVIP guest house or a book cafe. He said that there are more than 100 schools/colleges and coaching institutes within a radius of three to four kilometers of Butler Palace.

In such a situation, by developing a book cafe in Butler Palace, students and book lovers will get a better place and a large number of people will be able to take advantage of it.

He said that along with the book cafe, provision of photo gallery and audio-visual show on the second floor will also be made in Butler Palace. Also, a light and sound show depicting the culture of Awadh will be conducted on the wall of the palace at night. The Divisional Commissioner, while agreeing to the proposal of the book cafe, directed that the garden area near the palace should also be used for public purposes. For this, events like art and craft exhibition and colourful programmes in the open theatre and garden area should also be included in the proposal.

After this, the Divisional Commissioner held a meeting regarding the Green Corridor project. In this, he directed that a joint survey should be conducted with the officials of the concerned department to remove the obstacles in the construction of ROB/flyover from Pakka Pul to Daliganj and 4-lane road construction and dam widening from Nishatganj to Kukrail. In this, separate letters should be sent to the officials of Nagar Nigam, Jal Nigam, Jalkal, Irrigation Department, LESA and Forest Department for counting the trees, shifting HT line, pipeline and sewer line etc. Additional District Magistrate-East Amit Kumar, Additional District Magistrate-Administration Dr. Shubhi Singh, Authority Secretary Vivek Srivastava, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma and Chief Engineer Avnindra Kumar Singh and other officers were present in the meeting.
