Zydus and Pinkathon Join Hands to Drive Breast Cancer Awareness in India

Mumbai: Zydus Lifesciences Limited, a global innovation-driven healthcare company, has partnered with Pinkathon, India’s largest women’s run, to raise awareness about breast cancer across the country. The collaboration was formally announced at the launch of the 10th edition of the Mumbai Pinkathon, scheduled to take place on December 21, 2025, at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC.

The new initiative, titled “Zydus Pinkathon”, will be held across six Indian cities through 2025–26, with a strong focus on empowering women to prioritize their health and embrace preventive practices such as regular self-breast examinations.

The launch ceremony saw the presence of Dr. Sharvil Patel, Managing Director of Zydus Lifesciences, Ms. Meha Patel, Vice-Chairperson of the Zydus Foundation, Pinkathon founder and fitness icon Milind Soman, and Ankita Konwar, founder of Invincible Woman. All four leaders underlined the urgency of women taking charge of their health, particularly in the fight against breast cancer.

Dr. Patel emphasized the importance of Zydus’ “Easiest Exam Campaign”, which encourages women to devote just three minutes every month to a simple self-examination that could save lives. “Through Pinkathon, we aim to reach more women, spread awareness, and take collective action against breast cancer. Early detection has the power to save countless lives,” he said.

Milind Soman described the partnership as a force multiplier for Pinkathon’s mission. “Pinkathon has always been about women celebrating health, strength, and inclusivity. With Zydus as title partner, we can now expand this message nationwide. We urge women from all walks of life to join and put their health first,” he said.

Ms. Meha Patel added, “A woman is the cornerstone of her family’s well-being. The message we want to spread is simple yet vital—healthy women build empowered families. Early detection through self-examination can prevent thousands of untimely deaths, and awareness is the first step.”

The Mumbai edition of Zydus Pinkathon will feature multiple running categories to suit all fitness levels, including 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km, along with ultra-distances of 50 km, 75 km, and 100 km under the Invincible Woman initiative. Registrations have already opened for participants.

Over the next nine months, Zydus Pinkathon will travel to Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai, bringing together more than 30,000 women nationwide. The campaign arrives at a crucial time: breast cancer is now one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide, and in India alone, over 200,000 new cases are reported every year. Tragically, one woman dies from the disease every eight minutes, largely due to late detection.

By combining Pinkathon’s grassroots movement with Zydus’ healthcare expertise, the initiative hopes to break barriers, spark conversations, and build a culture where women’s health is placed at the center of family and community well-being.
