Zero Tolerance on Anti-Constitutional Orders: Panchayati Raj Joint Director Suspended

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken strong exception to a controversial directive issued by the Panchayati Raj Department, which linked the removal of illegal encroachments from Gram Sabha land to specific castes (Yadav) and communities (Muslims). Terming the directive as “completely discriminatory and unacceptable,” the Chief Minister has ordered its immediate withdrawal.

Deeming the matter a serious administrative lapse, the Chief Minister directed the suspension of Joint Director S.N. Singh with immediate effect. He asserted that such language and mindset not only go against the policies of the state government but also promote social division—something that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

CM Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed that action against illegal encroachments must be carried out strictly in accordance with facts, laws, and impartiality—not based on caste or religion. He further warned all officials to ensure that no such lapses are repeated in the future.

Reiterating the state government’s unwavering commitment to social harmony, justice, and equal rights for all, the Chief Minister emphasized that “government policies cannot and will not be driven by any form of bias towards an individual, community, or group.” He concluded by stating that the true allegiance of the administration lies with the Constitution and the spirit of justice.
