Rajkot: Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot has emerged as a key platform for diplomatic engagement and economic collaboration, drawing senior diplomats from across the globe to explore deeper partnerships with India.
Ukrainian Ambassador to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, expressed optimism about a potential visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to India later this year, describing it as an important opportunity to advance bilateral cooperation.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the conference, Ambassador Polishchuk highlighted the event’s role in facilitating business dialogue. He said the Vibrant Gujarat platform provided valuable opportunities to discuss ongoing and future projects, adding that Ukraine looks forward to strengthening cooperation with India across multiple sectors.
“We are looking forward to President Zelenskyy’s visit to India this year so that we can discuss projects we can undertake together in both countries,” the ambassador said, underlining the growing momentum in India–Ukraine relations despite global challenges.
The remarks come amid renewed efforts to expand collaboration in areas such as infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and trade, with diplomatic engagements between the two nations expected to intensify in the coming months.

The conference also witnessed strong participation from African nations. Rwanda’s Ambassador to India, Jacqueline Mukangira, reaffirmed the close ties between India and Rwanda, noting that India is among Rwanda’s largest investors and key trading partners. She emphasised the shared economic vision and growing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday in Rajkot, with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi in attendance. The two-day event, held from January 11 to 12, 2026, focuses on accelerating development in the Kutch and Saurashtra regions across 12 districts.
Key sectors under focus include engineering, ceramics, ports and logistics, fisheries, petrochemicals, agro and food processing, minerals, green energy, start-ups, MSMEs, tourism, culture, and skill development.
With partner countries such as Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine actively participating, the conference continues to reinforce Gujarat’s position as a global investment destination and a hub for international cooperation, while strengthening India’s broader economic and diplomatic outreach.
