Young basketball champs show the perfect volley

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Basketball team has won the gold medal in the boys category in the 49th National Basketball Championship. Last year this team had won the silver medal in this category.

Uttar Pradesh team won all the matches in the competition held in Hyderabad from 16-22 December.

UP team was placed in Pool B in the national competition. In the pool level matches, UP defeated Tamil Nadu 84-65. In the second match, it defeated Madhya Pradesh 79-70. In the third match, it defeated Jharkhand 94-29. UP defeated Maharashtra 71-64 in the pool match. With this, UP remained at the first position in the pool. After this, the quarter final knock out matches started.

In the quarter final match, UP defeated Rajasthan 88-55 and made it to the semi finals. Aditya Pandey scored 15 points and Darsheel Singh scored 14 points for UP in this match.

UP’s semi-final match was against Tamil Nadu.

UP made this match one-sided and won 86-46 to make it to the finals. In this match, Sameer Singh scored 14 and Vansh Sharma scored 18 points.

UP’s final match was against Delhi.

The match was very exciting from the beginning. UP team took the lead right from the beginning. In the fourth quarter, Delhi tried to make a comeback and reduced the lead.

But UP players displayed a brilliant game and won the gold medal by a margin of 56-49. In the final match, Jatin scored 18 and Vansh Sharma scored 15 points and contributed significantly to the victory.

Jatin Sharma was declared the most valuable player of this tournament.

Uttar Pradesh Basketball Association President Dr. Seema Sharma announced a prize of ten thousand rupees to each player of the winning team. This success was achieved due to the hard work of team coaches Umar Mirza and Amarjit Singh.
