Lucknow: A promising student-led startup, Unicycle, founded by Aniket Dubey, a student of the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS), University of Lucknow, is making significant strides in building a sustainable and convenient ecosystem for students across campuses. The initiative is being developed with the support and guidance of the IMS Incubation Cell under the mentorship of Dr. Zain Mehdi.
Unicycle is a campus-based second-hand marketplace designed exclusively for students to buy and sell used products within their university premises. The platform focuses on affordability, trust, and convenience while promoting sustainability by encouraging the reuse of goods within a secure student-to-student network.
The idea, which originated in December 2025, has gained recognition at various academic and entrepreneurial platforms. The startup was successfully presented to the Energy Minister of Uttar Pradesh and received appreciation for its innovative and impactful approach. Unicycle has also secured first prizes at multiple prestigious competitions, including Vision X Plan at SMS College, Lucknow, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University, Lucknow and Zing 3.0 at IMS, University of Lucknow.

Additionally, it has participated in events at institutions like NIT Bhopal, gaining recognition among young innovators. Founder Aniket Dubey stated that Unicycle aims to simplify student life by creating a trusted campus marketplace that reduces costs and promotes sustainability. With growing recognition and upcoming developments, Unicycle is set to expand across universities in India.
