Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 Schedule Announced: India-Pakistan Clash Set for October 5 in Colombo

Mumbai: The schedule for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 has officially been released, setting the stage for an exciting 13th edition of the tournament. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the competition will be held from September 30 to November 2, 2025, across five venues under a hybrid hosting model.

One of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, the high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash, is scheduled to take place on October 5 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Hybrid Hosting, Five Iconic Venues

In line with a prior agreement between the BCCI and PCB, Pakistan will play all of its matches in Colombo, while India and other teams will compete across select venues in India. The five designated venues are:

  • ACA Stadium, Guwahati

  • Holkar Stadium, Indore

  • ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam

  • M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru

  • R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

India Begins Campaign Against Sri Lanka

India will kick off their campaign on September 30 against co-hosts Sri Lanka at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The October 5 showdown with Pakistan in Colombo is expected to draw massive global attention.

Other key participating nations include Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, making a total of eight competing teams.

Tournament Format and Knockouts

The tournament will follow a round-robin format, where all eight teams play against each other. The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals, to be held on October 29 and 30. The final will take place on November 2, either in Colombo or Bengaluru, depending on the qualifying teams.

  • October 1: Australia vs New Zealand – Indore

  • October 3: England vs South Africa – Bengaluru

  • October 12: India vs Australia – Visakhapatnam

  • October 19: India vs England – Indore

  • October 23: India vs New Zealand – Guwahati

  • October 26: India vs Bangladesh – Bengaluru

A total of 31 matches will be played, including two fixtures on October 26.
