Mumbai: The world of TV thrillers welcomes a gripping new entry as director Hiren Adhikari returns with producer Kiran Langevar to present ‘Weekend Club’, a cybercrime-based web series now streaming on Hungama OTT. The series blends suspense, technology, and social awareness, making it a must-watch for Gen Z and digital-age viewers.
The trailer and teaser of this cyber thriller were launched on October 5, 2025, by Additional Director General of Maharashtra Cyber Department, Shri Yashasvi Yadav, on the eve of Cyber Crime Awareness Month in Mumbai.
During the launch, Yadav highlighted the alarming rise in cybercrimes:
- ₹22,845.73 crore lost in 2024, compared to ₹7,465 crore in 2023 – a 206% increase
- Over 36 lakh cybercrime cases recorded in 2024
- Surge in financial fraud, digital arrest, sextortion, and AI-based attacks
He stated, “A series like ‘Weekend Club’ can play a crucial role in spreading awareness among the public.”
Producer Kiran Langevar added, “Cybercrime is the biggest threat to Gen Z and society today. We created this series to entertain and educate.”
The show features six episodes, each around 30 minutes, shot across Mumbai, Surat, and Lonavala with high production quality.
Director Hiren Adhikari said, “‘Weekend Club’ is not just a thriller—it’s a message against cybercrime. If that message reaches people, we succeed.”
The cast includes Sanjay Parmar, Niya Tripathi, Amika Shail, Jayant Gadekar, Jigna Trivedi, Seema Kulkarni, and Farzan Karanjia.
