Central Research Institute of Homoeopathy promotes cleanliness and health awareness through community event
Lucknow | In a spirited effort to promote fitness and hygiene as pillars of a healthy lifestyle, the Central Research Institute of Homoeopathy (CRIH), Lucknow, under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), New Delhi, organized a Walkathon on October 25 at Janeshwar Mishra Park, Lucknow.
The sixth edition of the annual event carried the theme “Cleanliness and Health”, emphasizing the integral link between personal hygiene, physical activity, and community well-being. The walkathon aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of fitness, cleanliness, and healthy living amidst increasingly hectic urban lifestyles.
The initiative was part of the Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run 6.0, being conducted nationwide from October 2 to 31, 2025, by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The campaign encourages citizens to embrace walking and running as simple yet powerful habits for better health and fitness.
The chief guest, Javed Aslam, a national-level basketball player and current Finance Controller at the National AYUSH Mission and Directorate of Unani Services, Uttar Pradesh, was felicitated by Dr. Lipipushpa Debata, Officer-in-Charge of CRIH, with a bouquet and memento.

In his address, Aslam highlighted the growing need for maintaining physical fitness in today’s demanding routines. “An active lifestyle is no longer optional—it’s essential,” he remarked, urging participants to incorporate regular exercise into their daily lives.
The nodal officer for the event, Dr. Amit Srivastava, Research Officer, coordinated the walkathon, which saw enthusiastic participation from Dr. Renu Bala, Dr. Pratibha Shivhare, Dr. Divya Verma, and other institute staff members. The participants walked approximately three kilometers, spreading the message of health and hygiene.
Adding to the community spirit, family members, friends, and citizens present in the park also joined the walk, transforming it into a strong public fitness movement.
By blending the goals of the Fit India Movement and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the walkathon successfully underscored that cleanliness, health, and fitness are the true foundations of national well-being—a message that resonated through every step taken that morning.
