Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Held at Command Hospital, Lucknow

Lucknow — A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the Command Hospital, Lucknow, on Wednesday to mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The initiative was coordinated by the NCC Group Headquarters and saw enthusiastic participation from cadets and staff of 3 UP Naval Unit, 5 UP Air Squadron, 19 & 20 UP Girls Battalion, and 63, 64 & 67 UP Battalions.

The camp underscored the NCC’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community service, reflecting the ideals of “Unity and Discipline.”

The event was graced by Major General Alok Bhalla, VSM, Commandant, Command Hospital, Central Command, and Brigadier Manoj S., ADM & Commander Troops, who appreciated the cadets’ dedication during the blood donation pledge ceremony.

Colonel Nandita Hazara, pathologist, along with doctors and paramedics, ensured that the entire blood donation process was conducted safely and smoothly, strictly adhering to medical and safety protocols. Donor cadets were honored with blood donor certificates presented by the Commandant as a token of appreciation.

Brigadier Puneet Shrivastava, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, lauded the cadets, stating, “Blood donation is the greatest gift—it is the gift of life.”

A significant number of blood units were successfully collected during the camp, which will play a vital role in critical patient care, emergency medical support, and life-saving interventions.
