Vivek Oberoi Emphasizes the Role of Cows in Preserving Sanatan Dharma

Mumbai: Renowned Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has said that “the foundation of our nation rests on the cow, and Sanatan Dharma can only remain safe as long as the cow is protected.” Speaking passionately about the importance of cow protection and Sanatan Dharma, Oberoi highlighted how his father, veteran actor Suresh Oberoi, had undertaken a nationwide padayatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to raise awareness for cow conservation, protection, and promotion.

During this journey, Suresh Oberoi interacted with farmers and villagers across India, educating them on the economic and spiritual contribution of the cow to India’s agrarian structure. He also worked tirelessly to promote the prevention of cow slaughter and to spread awareness about the significance of cow-based rural economy.

Vivek Oberoi delivered his address at the 11th anniversary of “Gau Bharat Bharati”, India’s first national newspaper dedicated to cow protection and a cow-based economy. The event, titled “Rashtra Seva Samman Samaroh”, was held at the ISKCON Auditorium in Juhu, Mumbai, under the chairmanship of Gurudev Acharya Lokesh Muni.

Prominent personalities attending the event included Sadhguru Dr. Dayanidhi, Vinay Gopal Singh, Mahendra Sangoi, Sunil Seth, and Jyotishacharya Kalyan Shastri from Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, Acharya Lokesh Muni lauded Gau Bharat Bharati and its founder Sanjay Aman for their dedicated work in promoting cow protection and sustainable rural livelihoods. He said the newspaper has become a voice for India’s Gau Sanskriti and has continuously strived to reinforce the philosophy of “Gau Mata, Rajya Mata – Swarnim Bharat, Sampann Kisan, Unnat Maharashtra.”

Launched eleven years ago, Gau Bharat Bharati stands as India’s first and only national newspaper focusing exclusively on cow-based economy, sustainable agriculture, and the cultural significance of the cow. It not only highlights the economic contribution of cattle but also brings forward their spiritual and ecological importance, portraying the cow as the “Mother of the World.”

During the event, several distinguished personalities working in the fields of cow protection, art, literature, and social service were honoured with the Rashtra Seva Samman. Among those felicitated were Ranjana Singh (Managing Director, Jeeteshwar Infra), Varsha Chaturvedi, Sangeet Masoom, Samartha Mahalaxmi, author Lalita Jogad, Haresh Vora, Vijay Pahariya, Dr. Leena Gupta, and Eriperla Yoganand Shastri.

Prominent attendees also included Jayashree, Vishal Bhagat, and Him Bahadur Sonar, who graced the ceremony with their presence.

The event concluded with a collective call for strengthening cow-based economy and culture as a means to ensure sustainable development and spiritual well-being for the nation.
