“Knowledge is the real wealth — carry it forward with humility and purpose,” says Vice-President
Mysuru: The Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, presided as the Chief Guest at the 16th Convocation Ceremony of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) held today at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru.
Addressing the graduating students, the Vice-President emphasized that consistency is the true key to success, urging them to identify their unique talents and pursue their goals with steadfast determination. Citing Swami Vivekananda’s timeless exhortation — “Arise, Awake, and Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached” — he encouraged the youth to persevere fearlessly in their chosen paths.
Highlighting the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Radhakrishnan said it empowers students through flexibility, interdisciplinary learning, and skill integration, enabling them to adapt dynamically to an evolving global environment.
The Vice-President also commended Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage and the recognition of Kannada as a Classical Language, calling the state a cradle of learning and innovation. He reminded graduates of their role as torchbearers of India’s intellectual and ethical values.
Urging the youth to exercise responsible use of social media, he advised them to maintain self-discipline, uphold their duties toward their parents, and cultivate positive attributes from others. “Your education must not only make you employable but also responsible citizens contributing to society’s moral and spiritual fabric,” he remarked.

Encouraging the graduating batch to contribute meaningfully toward Viksit Bharat 2047, the Vice-President said, “Knowledge is the real wealth — carry forth its light to inspire future generations and build a prosperous, inclusive India.”
A total of 2,925 students received Degrees, Diplomas, and Fellowships at the ceremony, with 16 Gold Medallists honoured for academic excellence.
The event was attended by Governor of Karnataka Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Chancellor of JSS AHER His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Sri Shivaraj V. Patil, and other dignitaries.
