Vayu Veer Vijeta’ Car Rally from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh reaches Lucknow

 

The 7,000-km ‘Vayu Veer Vijeta’ car rally organised by Indian Air Force, arrived at Bakshi Ka Talab Air Force Station in Lucknow on October 17, 2024. The rally has been organised to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the foundation of the IAF which was celebrated on 8th Oct, 2024 (Air Force Day 2024). 29 Air warriors including women riders were part of the rally. The rally was flagged in by Air Force Station Bakshi ka Talab personnel under leadership of Gp Capt Gagan Kohli, Stn Cdr, AFS BKT. The team, during their transit through Lucknow, also laid a wreath at Smritika War Memorial in Lucknow Cantonment, in honor of the Fallen Heroes. The riders left for their next stop, Gorakhpur, on 18 Oct 2024. The rally is expected to culminate on 29 Oct, 2024 at Tawang.

During this stopover in Lucknow, local students and residents got an opportunity to interact with the team and learn about the IAF’s heroic legacy.

It took off from Thoise, one of the highest altitude airbases in the world, situated at an elevation of 3,068 meters, on 8th October, 2024. The rally is expected to culminate on Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh on 29th October, 2024

Organized in collaboration with the Uttarakhand War Memorial veterans and led by the IAF’s Adventure Cell, this rally is designed to weave a sense of national pride and gratitude for the air warriors who protect our nation.

During the rally’s 16 scheduled halts, the participants will engage with students and the public, creating a dialogue around the IAF’s achievements and encouraging youth to consider a future in the armed forces.
