Uttar Pradesh: UP’s Industrial Leap Towards a Net-Zero Future

UPSIDA and CEL Sign Pact to Focus on Solar Power, EV Charging, and Smart Infrastructure

Yogi Government’s New Step in Industrial Development, UP Moves Towards Net-Zero Emissions

LUCKNOW:  In a significant move to realize Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of a “strong and self-reliant Uttar Pradesh,” the state government has taken another major step. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) and Central Electronics Limited (CEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote sustainable and smart industrial infrastructure.

This agreement will not only propel UP towards eco-friendly industrial development but also accelerate its progress toward achieving the goal of net-zero emissions. The MoU was signed by Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA, and Chetan Prakash Jain, CMD of CEL.

Key Highlights of the Agreement

  • Renewable Energy Solutions: Solar power plants will be installed on rooftops and land within industrial areas. The partnership will develop solar street lighting, hybrid systems, and energy storage technologies to enhance energy efficiency.
  • IT and Smart Infrastructure: Industrial zones will be made secure and high-tech with smart surveillance (CCTV), access control, public address systems, and a centralized monitoring dashboard. Smart city technologies such as Wi-Fi zones, IoT-based asset tracking, and data analytics will also be included.
  • EV Infrastructure: Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be established in industrial areas, integrated with renewable energy to promote sustainable transportation.
  • Infrastructure Upgradation and Modernization: The civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure in industrial areas will be modernized. A special emphasis will be placed on green buildings, water conservation, and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Capacity Building and Training: The agreement includes provisions for training, workshops, and awareness campaigns for industries and stakeholders. Best practices and guidelines will be published to promote sustainable development.
  • Consulting and Policy Support: The collaboration will facilitate technical feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and investment consulting. Policy recommendations for green and smart industrial development will also be provided.

The Yogi Government’s Vision

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently emphasized that industrial development should not be limited to production alone but must also advance with a focus on environmental protection and the adoption of new technologies. This collaboration brings together UPSIDA’s developmental vision and CEL’s technical expertise, promising to elevate the state’s industrial framework to new heights.

UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari stated that this partnership is a “historic step towards developing industrial hubs that are eco-friendly, technologically advanced, and tailored to meet future needs.” This initiative marks a new chapter in Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward becoming a sustainable and smart industrial powerhouse.
