Uttar Pradesh Shines at AITA Championship Series National Tennis Tournament

Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh’s young tennis players delivered a remarkable performance at the AITA Championship Series (CS) National Tennis Championship, clinching several titles during the finals held on Friday. The tournament was organized by the Tennis Development Welfare Society at the Allahabad Gymkhana Tennis Academy, located in Azad Park.

Held from April 14, the championship attracted over 60 participants from various states, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

Dominant Display by Uttar Pradesh Players

In the Boys’ Under-18 Singles, Abhyuday Singh from Uttar Pradesh defeated fellow UP player Rohin Raj with a convincing 6-3, 6-2 scoreline to lift the title.

In a thrilling Girls’ Under-18 Singles final, Prachi Satish from Maharashtra staged a brilliant comeback to overcome Bihar’s Pari Singh in three sets: 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-1.

The Boys’ Under-18 Doubles title also went to Uttar Pradesh, with Abhyuday Singh and Rohin Raj teaming up to dominate Rishant Jaiswal and Kinjal Srivastava, winning 6-0, 6-2.

In the Girls’ Under-18 Doubles, Uttar Pradesh’s Dhriti Dubey and Neeti Dubey fought back after losing the first set to defeat the pair of Prachi Satish (Maharashtra) and Pari Singh (Bihar) with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 10-3.

Celebrating the Champions

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by chief guest Kirti Dubey, who presented trophies to the winners. Organizers Saif Iqbal and referee Asad Iqbal welcomed her at the event.

Also present were Rishi Sharma, Secretary of the Prayagraj District Tennis Association, and coach Hirdesh Kumar Pal, who lauded the players’ spirited performances and sportsmanship.

The tournament showcased the rising tennis talent of Uttar Pradesh, cementing its growing reputation in the national tennis circuit.
