Lucknow — The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm at its campus on August 15, 2025. The celebrations commenced at 8:00 a.m. with the ceremonial flag hoisting by Akademi Chairman Prof. Jayant Khot, Vice-Chairperson Smt. Vibha Singh, and Director Dr. Shobhit Kumar Nahar.
As part of the ceremony, floral tributes were offered to Mahatma Gandhi, with a garlanding of his portrait, honouring his enduring contribution to India’s freedom struggle.
Following the formal proceedings, a spirited Tiranga Yatra (Tricolour March) was taken out from the Akademi premises, reflecting the patriotic fervour of the day.
The event witnessed the presence of staff members from the Akademi, Kathak Kendra, and Radio Jayghosh, who participated wholeheartedly in the celebrations.
