Uttar Pradesh Releases District Domestic Product Estimates for FY 2023-24, Highlights Inclusive Economic Growth

Lucknow : The Directorate of Economics and Statistics under the Planning Department of the Uttar Pradesh government has released the District Domestic Product (DDP) estimates for the financial year 2023–24, showcasing the success of the state’s inclusive and balanced economic policies. Diverse and Balanced Growth
Uttar Pradesh’s diverse geography and economy are mirrored in its development trends. While western districts are rapidly industrializing and urbanizing, eastern and Bundelkhand districts are leveraging traditional agriculture, handicrafts, and rural industries — now bolstered with modern technology — to drive development. Initiatives like the “One District, One Product” (ODOP) scheme, Defence Corridor, rural digitization, Startup India, and self-employment campaigns have helped harness local strengths and translate them into economic gains.

These schemes have not only generated local employment but have also attracted significant investments and infrastructure development, reinforcing the state’s balanced and inclusive economic model.

On the Path to a Developed State
With each district forging ahead on its unique development path, Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country. This progress not only redefines the economic map of the state but also propels the vision of “Empowered Districts, Empowered State,” moving steadily toward the national goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047
