Uttar Pradesh Police Felicitates Meritorious Children of Personnel in Grand Ceremony

Lucknow: In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, the Uttar Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association (VAMA Sarthi) honoured the meritorious children of serving police personnel at a special function held at the Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Auditorium, Signature Building, Police Headquarters, Lucknow.

The event was graced by Meenakshi Singh, IRS, President of VAMA Sarthi and spouse of DGP Rajeev Krishna. She, along with Vice President Renu Singh and other VAMA Sarthi members, felicitated the students with certificates of excellence and gift hampers, recognising their outstanding academic achievements.

Inspiring Future Leaders

In her motivational address, Meenakshi Singh emphasized the power of perseverance and hard work, quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam:

“If you want to shine like the sun, first burn like the sun.”
She praised the students for their dedication and urged them to continue aiming high and making their families and the nation proud.

Among the awardees were:

  • Maitri Singh, daughter of Traffic Inspector Uday Pratap Singh, who scored 99.2% in High School
  • Aishna Deep, daughter of Constable Driver Atul Deep Sachan, with 95.2% in High School

The students expressed gratitude for the recognition, with many calling their police officer parents their role models and vowing to serve the country by pursuing careers in civil services and engineering.

A Proud Moment for UP Police

Director General of Police (DGP) Uttar Pradesh congratulated the awardees and their families, commending the association for organising such an inspiring event. He proudly shared that:

  • 234 children of UP Police personnel are currently studying in prestigious higher education institutions

  • 102 in MBBS
  • 93 in B.Tech
  • 12 in M.Tech
  • 5 in MBA
  • Students are enrolled in institutions such as:

  • 33 in IITs
  • 26 in NITs
  • 11 in IIITs
  • 3 in NLUs
  • 2 in AIIMS
  • 2 in IIMs

He conveyed best wishes to all students and encouraged them to reach even greater heights through determination and diligence.
