Lucknow: As part of the Uttar Pradesh Day 2025 celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh Government, in association with the State Lalit Kala Academy (Culture Department, Uttar Pradesh), organized a grand exhibition of installation art, rangoli, paintings, and sculptures at the Awadh Shilp Gram, Amar Shaheed Path, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
The event was inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Jayveer Singh, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Uttar Pradesh Government, and Rakesh Sachan, Minister, Uttar Pradesh Government. The dignitaries paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Constitution book created by the Academy as part of the ceremony.
Following the inaugural, all the distinguished guests visited the exhibition showcasing statues of India’s great freedom fighters and historical figures. The exhibition received immense praise for its display of artistry and historical significance.
Dr. Shraddha Shukla, Director of the State Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh, explained that on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Day, the Academy invited artists from across India to display statues of great freedom fighters and historical figures. The installation work was coordinated by Dr. Prafull Chandra Rao, Member, State Lalit Kala Academy, and was carried out with utmost dedication and precision. Additionally, rangoli artists created mesmerizing designs at the entrance and stage area, further adding to the event’s grandeur.
The exhibition also featured an impressive collection of approximately 45 paintings depicting the cultural and tourism heritage of Uttar Pradesh, as well as the life of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. The artworks were created by artists from different districts of the state.
On this memorable occasion, the event was attended by various prominent figures, including Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri Mukesh Sharma, Member of Legislative Council, Shri Girish Chandra, Vice President of the State Lalit Kala Academy, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Culture Department, Uttar Pradesh Government, Ravindra Kumar, Special Secretary, Culture Department, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Srishti Dhawan, Additional Director, Directorate of Culture, Uttar Pradesh, and several other artists and Academy staff.
The event not only highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh but also emphasized the state’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle and artistic legacy.
