Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Yoga Samiti Launches Yoga Awareness Campaign with Conch Sound Ahead of International Yoga Day

Lucknow: In a vibrant display of wellness and tradition, the Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Yoga Samiti launched its “Yoga Awareness Campaign” today with a conch-blowing ceremony and group yoga session held at 1090 Chauraha, Gomtinagar, Lucknow. The campaign is part of the state-wide preparations leading up to International Yoga Day on June 21.

The early morning event saw enthusiastic participation from a cross-section of society including local traders, senior citizens, women, chartered accountants, and students. Participants gathered at 6 a.m. to engage in various yoga asanas under the open sky, symbolizing a collective step toward building a healthier India.

The event was graced by Sanjay Gupta, President of the Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal and Patron of the Adarsh Yoga Samiti, who actively participated in the yoga session. Speaking on the occasion, Gupta emphasized,

“Yoga is the simplest and most effective way to ensure physical and mental well-being. We must sow the seeds of yoga in our children so that 20 years from now, we can see a truly healthy India — free from expensive medicines and surgeries.”

Sandeep Singh Gaur, President of the Adarsh Yoga Samiti, informed that this awareness campaign will be extended to various parts of the city with yoga camps and public outreach initiatives. He also announced that a Yoga Awareness Rally will be held on June 15, starting from Ashiyana LDA, covering the surrounding areas to engage more citizens.

The committee also plans to host a large-scale yoga program on June 21 in Ashiyana to mark International Yoga Day.

Drumming up support and motivation for the movement, Sandeep Singh Gaur added,

“Our goal is to spread yoga awareness far and wide, ensuring that more people embrace it not just as an annual event, but as a year-long discipline that transforms lives.”

The event also witnessed the active participation of notable citizens and yoga practitioners including Sunil Maurya, Rajkumar Shukla, R.K. Gupta, Shailu Mahendra Pratap Singh, Poonam Saxena, Saira Ji, G.P. Gupta, Ritesh Kharbanda, O.P. Srivastava, Rajesh Mishra, Deepa Trivedi, Madhulika Shukla, Rajni Shukla, Satyabhama, Anu, Alok Singh, Rajiv Gupta, R.N. Verma, J.P. Tiwari, Jugal Kishore, Shiv Dayal, Rajendra Singh, Raj Bhatla, Rajendra Srivastava, and Radheshyam Tiwari among others.

With conch shells resonating across the morning sky and yoga mats dotting the landscape, the event laid a serene yet powerful foundation for the upcoming International Yoga Day celebrations, aiming to encourage a movement toward a healthier, drug-free, and mindful India.
