The event was graced by DGP Rajeev Krishna, Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, and ADG Joseph R.K. Loku of BPR&D as the Distinguished Guest of Honour. Dr. G.K. Speaking at the event, DGP Krishna emphasized that modern crime investigation demands a fusion of legal knowledge, technological insight, and forensic application. He praised UPSIFS for emerging as a model institution in a short time, attributing its rapid success to strong leadership.

He also inaugurated the Advanced Digital Diagnostic Room, a high-tech facility designed to aid forensic investigations and cybercrime training.

Highlighting the growing threat of cybercrime, the DGP noted, “The battlefield is no longer the ground; it’s the digital space. Police personnel at all levels must be technologically empowered to fight cybercriminals effectively.” He urged trainees to integrate their learnings into their policing practices to enhance public safety and operational efficiency.

Only then can holistic justice be served,” he said. He also revealed that the institute, in collaboration with BPR&D, has launched two specialized courses for police officers, starting with this inaugural training program.

Dr. Goswami expressed gratitude to DGP Rajeev Krishna and ADG Loku, stating that it is a proud moment for the institute to begin training Indian Police Service (IPS) officers on forensic and cyber topics, following its successful training programs for military officials.

The event was attended by Additional Director Rajeev Malhotra, Additional SP Chiranjeev Mukherjee, and officials such as Atul Yadav, Vivek Kumar, and PRO Santosh Kumar Tiwari.
