Lucknow: Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) is establishing “Saksham Centres” across the state to strengthen the economic, social and educational foundation of rural women. These centres are emerging as a transformative model of self-reliance and empowerment, helping women become confident contributors to the rural economy.
So far, over 1,900 Saksham Centres have been set up across Uttar Pradesh. To manage and operate these centres, 4,695 Financial Literacy Community Resource Persons (FLCRPs) have been appointed. These trained women are playing a pivotal role by offering financial literacy, digital skills, and entrepreneurship training to local communities.
The primary objective of Saksham Centres is to connect women with banking services, government schemes, digital transactions and self-employment opportunities. Women trained at these centres are successfully working as BC Sakhis, digital service providers, and micro-entrepreneurs, bringing visible positive change to the rural economy.

Mission Director Deepa Ranjan stated that in the coming days, Saksham Centres and FLCRPs will be deployed at every CLF (Cluster Level Federation). This expansion will accelerate financial inclusion and ensure that rural women become strong partners in building a new and empowered India.
Saksham Centres are not just training hubs—they are symbols of rising confidence, independence, and leadership among rural women in Uttar Pradesh.
