UP’s Chinmay Dev Chauhan and Vansh Yadav Enter Main Draw of AITA Men’s Prize Money Tennis Tournament

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh players Chinmay Dev Chauhan and Vansh Yadav secured their places in the main draw of the AITA Men’s Prize Money Tennis Tournament after impressive wins in the qualifying rounds.

The tournament, carrying a prize purse of ₹1 lakh, is being organized by SDS Tennis Academy at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility. In the final round of qualifiers on Sunday, Chinmay delivered a dominant performance, defeating Yash 6-0, 6-0, while Vansh Yadav outplayed Akshit 6-1, 6-3.

Alongside them, players from across the country also advanced to the main draw, including Delhi’s Ricky Chaudhary; Haryana’s Sunil Kumar and Harsh; Punjab’s Jasraj; Kerala’s Kaushik; and Rajasthan’s Amit.

According to academy founder member Pawan Sagar, the main draw matches of the tournament—sponsored by India Pesticides Limited—will commence on March 23 from 8:30 AM.

In addition, the Swaroop Agarwal Talent Hunt Tennis Tournament, with a prize pool of ₹1.5 lakh, will also begin on March 23 at the same venue. The event will feature competitions across multiple age categories, including Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 for both boys and girls, along with a women’s category. Matches for this tournament are scheduled to start from 10 AM.

Organisers clarified that both tournaments are separate events sponsored by India Pesticides Limited, aimed at promoting competitive tennis and nurturing emerging talent at different levels.

The twin tournaments are expected to provide a strong platform for budding players while adding to the growing tennis culture in the city.
