Lucknow — In a significant push to bolster spiritual and heritage tourism in Uttar Pradesh, the state’s Tourism Department has approved development projects worth over ₹2.45 crore for key religious and Buddhist sites across Budaun, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Bijnor districts. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, enrich visitor experience, and stimulate economic activity in the region.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh informed that the approved projects will not only improve tourism-related facilities but also create employment opportunities for local communities, thereby contributing to the economic upliftment of the state.
Highlighting the details of the allocations, Minister Singh said, “A total of ₹2.45 crore has been sanctioned for various projects. In Budaun district, ₹57.31 lakh has been allocated for beautification and facility upgrades at the revered Kuru Kheda Siddh Baba Temple. This will enhance the overall spiritual ambience and visitor comfort.”
In Kaushambi district, the historic Ashvaghosh Buddhist Vihar located in Nibi Shana village will see tourism upgrades with a budget of ₹55.70 lakh. “This site holds a prominent place in Buddhist heritage and witnesses regular footfall from devotees across India and abroad,” Singh added.
In Pratapgarh, a project worth ₹57.40 lakh has been approved to strengthen infrastructure around the Dahin Devi Dham in Kotha village and the nearby Sandwa Chandrika Temple. The work will focus on essential improvements, including accessibility and visitor amenities.
Similarly, in Bijnor district, ₹75.74 lakh has been earmarked for the development of the ancient Shiv Temple in Fatehpur village, located in the Nahatour area. The Minister emphasized that the temple’s historical and spiritual significance makes its rejuvenation particularly impactful for both devotees and tourists.
The scope of development at these sites includes beautification, construction of shaded structures, drinking water facilities, installation of seating arrangements, and other tourist-friendly amenities to ensure a comfortable and satisfying experience for pilgrims and visitors.
