UP to begin Cashless Treatment for Road Accident Victims

Lucknow : People injured in road accidents will no longer die due to lack of money. In private hospital, now the road accident wounded is ready to facilitate cashless treatment. The injured will be provided for seven days under the cost of treatment, the maximum amount of which will be Rs.1.3 lakh, under the cashless system. The scheme will start at Ayushman India’s basis, in which severely injured in road accident in private hospitals.

On Supreme Court order

The road transport ministry has started a cashless treatment scheme for the injured. The number of deaths in road accidents in Uttar Pradesh is highest. The Transport Department has prepared a proposal of plan on the centre’s threshold. DM has been handed over work of adding the work to private hospitals with the scheme. This work has started. So far, private hospitals have been avoiding treatment of road accident wounded, as there have been several legal hulls in it. Now everyone will be provided treatment with this barrier. This plan will be applicable to all road accidents and all road accidents related to motor vehicle. Police, hospital and state health agencies have to coordinate.

Pushpsen Satyarthy, former Commissioner of Target Road Security,  said that road accidents deaths will decrease . In Golden Over with treatment of wounded, financial burden can be reduced on victims. Also, quick action will be taken in an emergency. The government has taken a target of reducing deaths by 50 per cent in road accidents by 2030. Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh said that the state government will issue a ruling in this regard. After this, road accident wounded will start getting cashless treatment. Such will be the benefit of the scheme to inform the police within 24 hours of the accident. Police will feed it on the e-details accident report i.e. e-dar application portal, hospital will also be connected to this portal, they will start treatment on this basis. The Chairman of the District road safety committee is the district officer. The plan’s monitoring and paying will be through them. Treatment claims will be paid to hospitals with a motor vehicle accident fund. After crossing the border of seven days or one and a half lakh rupees, the patient’s treatment expenses will be compensated by the Insured vehicle in the circumstances of an accident. If the vehicle is not insured, the injured will have to be treated with his pocket.
