Mumbai: Mumbai, the city of dreams, welcomed a golden opportunity for cinema lovers and aspiring artists as Release World officially announced its unique short film competition. The event featured a glamorous mix of talent and entertainment, with the competition’s poster unveiled in a grand ceremony.
Participants in this contest stand a chance to win cash prizes of up to ₹25 lakh and an extraordinary opportunity to act alongside a Bhojpuri superstar.
The poster was unveiled by Release World Chairperson Somati Parikoti and Director Deepak Parikoti, in the presence of chief guests Bollywood actor Manav Sohal and actress Shravani Goswami. Distinguished guests included iconic actress Rita Bhalla, Nepali filmmaker Upendra Timilsina, and Indian Idol fame singer Munawwar Ali.
The event was supported by reputed brands, with Tangent OTT as the sponsorship partner, Fantasy Media managing the event, Pehchaan Magazine as media partner, and 100 Billion Tech and Adonik as technical partners.
A unique aspect of this competition is that no participant will return empty-handed. The first-place winner will receive up to ₹10 lakh, while the contestant bringing in the highest number of views and subscribers can earn up to ₹25 lakh. Additionally, all revenue generated from participants’ short films on YouTube will be returned entirely to the creators.
Actor Manav Sohal praised the initiative, saying, “This is an excellent platform for emerging talent and will encourage new artists.” Actress Shravani Goswami added, “Short films are the choice of today’s generation, and this platform will bring forward new stories and fresh faces.”
The countdown for the short film competition begins on October 20, 2025 (Diwali). More than just a contest, it is a cinematic celebration where every participant can take flight with their creativity and aim for success.
