UP STF Nabs Four, Seizes Oxytocin Injections Worth Rs 2 Crore

LUCKNOW – In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) has arrested four members of an interstate gang involved in the illegal trafficking of oxytocin injections. The STF team seized a massive haul of the drug with an estimated market value of Rs 2 crore.

The operation led to the arrest of four individuals identified as Irfan, Dildar, Shoaib, and Shahnawaz. They were apprehended near a government school in Muzaffar Kheda, under the Para Police Station area of Lucknow.

Upon their arrest, the STF recovered a large quantity of the illegal substance, including:

  • 20 gallons and 5 liters of oxytocin injections
  • 39 sacks filled with oxytocin injections and related manufacturing materials.

During interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to being part of a gang that illegally supplies oxytocin injections in Lucknow and its surrounding districts. They revealed that the high-density oxytocin injections were sourced from Bihar and transported via parcels, often disguised as mineral water.

The gang would then repackage the substance into different-sized ampules to meet local demand. The injections are known to be used illicitly for a variety of purposes, including increasing milk production in animals and accelerating the growth of fruits and vegetables.

The STF is now working to identify and apprehend the supplier of these illegal oxytocin injections in Bihar. The successful operation highlights the UP STF’s ongoing efforts to curb the illegal trade of drugs and other restricted substances across the state.
