Lucknow | In a bid to enhance the safety and awareness of women and girl students, the Rahimabad police organised a special outreach programme titled ‘Police ki Paathshaala’ across multiple villages in the region. The initiative, led by Inspector Arun Kumar Trigunayak, was conducted in Rusena, Piparsand, Rahimabad, and nearby rural areas.
Self-Defence Training and Safety Awareness
During the interactive sessions, the police team trained women and students in basic self-defence techniques, equipping them with practical methods to protect themselves in threatening situations. Officers also educated participants on crucial emergency and assistance numbers, including:

- Emergency Response: 112
- Child Helpline: 1098
- Cybercrime Helpline and safe internet practices
The team emphasised the growing importance of cyber safety, especially for young girls, urging them to use mobile phones responsibly and maintain caution while interacting on social media.
Immediate Reporting Key to Prevention
Encouraging vigilance, officials advised participants to promptly report any incident of harassment, stalking, eve-teasing, or suspicious activity to the police.
“Women’s safety is our highest priority, and awareness is the first step toward prevention,” Inspector Trigunayak said. He added that the police are committed to running such community programmes regularly to build trust and ensure timely intervention.
Community Applauds the Initiative
The initiative received an enthusiastic response from villagers. Women praised the police for addressing safety concerns directly at the grassroots level.
They said such programmes help boost their confidence and make them more aware of their rights and available support systems.
Rahimabad police have assured that similar awareness programmes will continue in the coming months to strengthen women’s safety across rural areas of the district.
