In addition, Excellence in water sports can bring ‘recognition and awards’ apart from boosting confidence and risk taking potential.
In UP, Despite 31 rivers and about 60 reservoirs, only a miniscule fraction of water bodies are being utilised for adventure sports, mostly by private players. There are no world class, well equipped water sport centers at all. The

UP government must strongly promote adventure water sports for many reasons;
1. State has high tourism potential
2. Will create new employment opportunities
3. Will promote local economy
4. Shall actively engage & skill youth
5. Surely promote fitness, discipline and leadership among all
6. Give boost to sustainable tourism
7. Build image of UP in adventure sports.
8. Contribute to the GDP of UP through revenue generation
9. Create opportunities for National & International recognition of State
10. Build and support new careers in water sports and create pool of experts
Further, even Olympics and Asian games have large number of medals in water sports and UPs youth can grab them in the future but we must provide them with opportunities and facilities to practice and train for the same.

As society continues to evolve, it’s important to incorporate activities that promote both physical health and mental well-being. By promoting adventure water sports in State, the UP government can unlock economic growth, empower youth, protect its rivers, reservoirs and modernize tourism making Uttar Pradesh both traditional and adventurous.
