Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh has issued strict directions to the National Dairy Development Board to ensure that upcoming dairy plants in the state begin operations within the निर्धारित timelines, warning that any delay will not be tolerated.
During a review meeting held at the Vidhan Bhavan, the minister directed that the dairy plant in Kannauj must be operational by April 30, 2026, followed by the plant in Gorakhpur by May 5, and the facility in Kanpur by May 20, 2026.
Singh emphasized that there is no shortage of essential resources, including ammonia gas, for running the plants, and instructed that all units must function at full capacity once operational. He stressed that unnecessary delays at any level would not be accepted.
The minister stated that the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously working to strengthen milk production and processing capacity in the state. The timely commissioning of these plants is expected to provide better market access to dairy farmers, boost rural incomes, and strengthen the overall rural economy.

He added that the new facilities will enhance milk collection, processing, and marketing systems while generating employment opportunities at the local level.
Officials of the dairy development department were instructed to ensure regular monitoring of progress and to complete all projects in a time-bound and quality-driven manner. The government aims to further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position in the dairy sector through modern technology and efficient management.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Dairy Commissioner K. Dhanalakshmi, Dr. Ram Sagar, PCDF Coordinator Ram Charan, and Sanjay Bharti, along with senior representatives from NDDB and the Dairy Development Department
