Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Metro’s Lost and Found Cell once again proved its reliability and commitment to passenger safety by successfully returning a lost wallet belonging to a foreign woman passenger. The incident highlighted the alertness, honesty and adherence to standard procedures by metro security personnel.
The incident occurred on February 3, 2026, at around 3:00 pm, when security staff recovered a white wallet during routine checking at Captain Shubham Gupta Metro Station in Agra. The wallet contained four ATM cards, a USA driving licence, a USA passport card, ₹2,800 in cash, a hotel room card and an emergency medical certificate.

Following due verification and completion of all formalities, the wallet was safely returned to the passenger at around 8:00 pm the same day. The passenger was identified as Barbara N. Stachnik Gresh, a resident of South Street, Freeland, Pennsylvania, USA. Expressing her gratitude, the American citizen thanked the metro staff for their honesty and dedication and appreciated their responsible conduct.

Commenting on the incident, Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, UPMRC, said that he was proud of the metro team’s commitment to public service. He added that the integrity and efficiency of the Lost and Found Cell have strengthened passenger trust, making the UP Metro one of the safest, most comfortable and reliable public transport systems.
The incident has further reinforced UP Metro’s reputation for transparency, safety and passenger-centric service.
