There is sufficient availability of fertilizers in all divisions, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to continuously monitor the situation to ensure farmers face no problems. The government has taken a strict stance on black marketing and over-pricing. With the government’s timely monitoring, transparency has been maintained in the fertilizer distribution system. The agriculture department released the latest figures on divisional fertilizer availability on Friday.
Fertilizer Situation in the State
According to the agriculture department, the state has a total availability of 5.95 lakh metric tons (MT) of urea, 3.91 lakh MT of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate), and 3.01 lakh MT of NPK (Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium). Farmers Benefiting from Subsidy
The Yogi government is continuously taking steps to benefit farmers. The actual cost of a bag of urea is Rs 2,174, but due to the subsidy, it is being made available to farmers for just Rs 266.50. The GSVA related to the agricultural sector, which was Rs 2 lakh crore during the Samajwadi Party’s rule, has now increased to Rs 7 lakh crore.
