UP Government Gears Up to Make State a Global IT and AI Hub

Lucknow – Uttar Pradesh is taking ambitious strides to become a global hub for Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Over the past eight and a half years, the state has transformed its tech landscape, establishing itself as a rising IT destination in India.

As part of the “Developed UP @2047” vision, CM Yogi has set a long-term goal to create 15–20 decacorn startups valued at USD 10 billion each, and prepare over 40 million youth as a globally skilled workforce. By 2030, AI Cities will be established in Lucknow and Kanpur, while NCR, Lucknow, and Noida are set to become Global Capability Center (GCC) hubs. The state aims to nurture at least 20 unicorn startups by 2030 and expand software exports fivefold. Collaboration with ISRO for satellite launches will also enhance disaster management and weather forecasting capabilities.

The 2047 roadmap envisions UP as a global leader in AI, quantum computing, and blockchain, creating a world-class technology corridor and contributing significantly to India’s IT exports. The strategy focuses on four pillars: AI Cities, green and sustainable tech, GCC, and space technology, supported by innovation hubs, cyber security initiatives, and university-linked R&D centers.

Skill development remains a priority, with the goal of training all youth in industry-relevant skills and positioning five UP institutions among the world’s top 200. By 2047, UP’s economy is targeted to reach USD 6 trillion, accounting for 20% of India’s GDP, with per capita income rising to INR 26 lakh.

CM Yogi emphasized that leveraging IT and skill development will position UP as India’s digital powerhouse and a global technology destination, offering vast employment opportunities while placing the state prominently on the world tech map.
