Lucknow: To prepare for the implementation of the new UP Export Policy 2025-30, a comprehensive workshop was held under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi.’ The event, organized at Hotel Centrum, brought together exporters, industrial organizations, experts, and stakeholders to share their insights and suggestions for shaping the proposed policy.
Addressing the workshop, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta highlighted the foundational elements of industrial growth: infrastructure, law and order, connectivity, and industrial policy. He attributed the significant strides made in these areas over the last seven years to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the dynamic governance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
“Uttar Pradesh has transformed its industrial ecosystem with world-class infrastructure, robust law and order, seamless connectivity through air, water, rail, and road networks, and practical industrial policies. As a result, the state has emerged as the most attractive investment destination,” Nandi said.
He further emphasized the government’s dual focus on investment and exports, ensuring that production stemming from investments finds promising export opportunities. The unprecedented development of airports, railways, highways, waterways, and expressways in Uttar Pradesh has significantly enhanced export potential by making transportation cheaper, easier, and more accessible.
Doubling of Exports in Seven Years
Nandi noted the remarkable growth in the state’s exports, which nearly doubled in seven years. From ₹88,000 crore in FY 2017-18, exports surged to ₹1,70,000 crore in FY 2023-24. He credited this achievement to the UP Export Policy 2020-25, which prioritized dialogue and collaboration with stakeholders.
With the 2020-25 policy nearing its conclusion, the government is now seeking input from stakeholders and exporters to craft an even more effective policy for the 2025-30 period. “Our goal is to implement a robust, inclusive export policy that addresses challenges and capitalizes on emerging opportunities,” he added.
Tackling Global Challenges
Principal Secretary for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Export Promotion, Alok Kumar, stressed that the new policy will address challenges posed by global geopolitical tensions and evolving market dynamics. “The UP Export Policy 2025-30 will provide effective solutions to overcome these hurdles and achieve ambitious export targets for the state,” he said.
