Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – The president of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation Directorate Ministerial Employees Union, Rajkumar Singh (52), was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head on Wednesday evening. His body was discovered in a room on Shaheed Path, with a revolver found in his right hand. While police are treating the case as a suspected suicide, his family believes it is a murder.
Singh, who also worked as a clerk at the Consolidation Headquarters, was a prominent figure and known to be a close associate of former MP Dhananjay Singh.
Incident Details
According to reports, Rajkumar Singh left his home with his driver around 10 AM. He first visited a friend’s flat before proceeding to his own plot on Shaheed Path. He instructed his driver to wait in the car while he went inside. When he did not emerge by late evening and failed to answer his phone, the driver went inside to check on him. He found Singh lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

The driver immediately informed Singh’s family and the police.

Police and Family Statements
Upon receiving the information, family members and police arrived at the scene. A forensic team was called to investigate and the revolver was seized.

DCP South Nipun Agarwal stated that based on initial evidence, the case appears to be a suicide. However, Singh’s family has expressed strong doubts, claiming that he did not own a licensed weapon and had no reason to take his own life.
The news of Singh’s death brought several prominent individuals to the scene, including former MP Dhananjay Singh and former State Minister Rana Ajit Singh. Police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into all angles to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
