UP Begins Work on Tourism Vision Document 2047; Policymakers and Experts to Convene in Lucknow — Jaiveer Singh

Lucknow | The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is set to host the Viksit Uttar Pradesh/2047 Tourism Workshop on November 27 at Yojana Bhawan, Lucknow. The workshop marks a significant step toward shaping the Tourism Vision Document 2047, aimed at transforming Uttar Pradesh into a sustainable, inclusive, and world-class tourism destination over the next two decades.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said tourism in the state is scaling new heights under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and in alignment with the national “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision. Uttar Pradesh continues to emerge as a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourists. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the state welcomed a record 109.65 crore visitors, firmly placing it on India’s tourism map.

Singh added that the workshop aims to convert this growth momentum into a robust, investment-driven, and community-centric tourism development model that positions Uttar Pradesh as a global tourism hub in the coming years.

Key Sessions and Speakers

The workshop will open with remarks from senior tourism officials. Chief Minister’s advisor Avnish Awasthi will deliver the keynote address, outlining the long-term tourism outlook for the state. Tourism Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat will highlight strategic priorities, while Tourism Director General Rajesh Kumar will deliver the welcome address.

Further sessions will feature:

  • Ashish Kumar, Managing Director, UPTDC, speaking on Spiritual Tours and Packages, focusing on the rising demand for curated pilgrimage circuits.

  • Vishwabhushan, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, sharing insights on strengthening spiritual circuits and managing large-scale pilgrim movement.

Experts in heritage conservation, eco-tourism, wildlife tourism, digital tourism systems, rural tourism enterprises, skill development, and tourism research institutions will also participate across multiple thematic panels.

Blueprint for the Future

Throughout the day, the workshop will host keynote sessions, expert presentations, panel discussions, and multi-stakeholder breakout groups. Recommendations gathered—including sector-specific priorities, investment ideas, and policy feedback—will be incorporated into the upcoming Tourism Vision Document 2047.

Officials noted that the workshop’s core objective is to articulate a comprehensive roadmap for strengthening the state’s tourism ecosystem, identifying priority development projects, expanding investment avenues, and accelerating public-private partnership models.

With policymakers, sector experts, and administrators coming together on one platform, Uttar Pradesh aims to lay the foundation for a forward-looking, globally competitive tourism framework that will shape the next era of development.
