Unlike real life, Shabir plays a very different shade onscreen

Mumbai, June 2025: Sony SAB’s romantic drama, ‘Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil,’ is captivating audiences with its fresh narrative and emotionally rich characters. At the heart of this intriguing story is Advocate Yug Sinha, portrayed by the talented Shabir Ahluwalia – a character who appears charming and carefree on the surface but harbors deep inner wounds.

While on-screen Yug is serious and complex, Shabir in real life is a warm, down-to-earth, and family-oriented individual. His personal life is filled with love, laughter, and deep personal relationships. He is known as a devoted husband, an affectionate father, and someone who openly expresses his emotions. Yug, however, is the complete opposite – emotionally distant, keeping women at bay, wearing a facade of harshness, and having lost faith in love. For Shabir, portraying Yug’s pain and emotional barriers has been a challenging yet exhilarating experience, pushing him beyond traditional acting boundaries.

Recently, Shabir shared his experience of playing a character so different from his true self. He stated, “In real life, I am always surrounded by love. I laugh easily and express my feelings openly. But Yug is completely contrary to that. He has built a wall around himself and doesn’t let anyone get close. When I first stepped on set, I had to suppress the warmth and openness that define me and transform into someone cold and restrained. Initially, it was uncomfortable; it felt like I was going against my nature. But that’s what made it exciting. This character allowed me to delve deep as an actor and challenge myself. My reality is love; Yug’s reality is a broken heart. And this very contradiction makes portraying this character so powerful.”

It is for this reason that Shabir considers Yug one of his most interesting characters to date.

Watch ‘Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil,’ every Monday to Saturday, at 8:00 PM, only on Sony SAB.
