Lucknow – In the true spirit of “Innovation for Nation”, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET), University of Lucknow, successfully organized the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 in-house round under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manuka Khanna. The Hackathon was presided over by Prof. A.K. Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 600 students, forming a total of 99 teams from various departments of the University, and was conducted in 6 sessions evaluated by 18 faculty members. The event aims to inspire young minds to develop innovative and practical solutions to pressing challenges faced by society and industry.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Ashok Kumar Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who motivated the students to excel in innovation, technology, and research. He emphasized that such initiatives serve as valuable platforms for students to showcase ideas and convert them into practical solutions. Dr. Zeeshan Ali Siddiqui, Coordinator, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, also encouraged students to approach the competition with passion and creativity.

The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Satya Bhushan Verma, Program Coordinator, who highlighted that the hackathon is not merely a competition but a journey of learning, teamwork, and innovative thinking. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Nupur Soni, Program Co-Coordinator, who underlined the essence of the hackathon as a medium to dare to think differently, experiment, and transform innovative ideas into meaningful solutions. The University of Lucknow, through this initiative, continues to provide a strong platform for its students to engage in real-world problem solving and contribute to the nation’s growth through innovation
