Lucknow: On the fifth day of the Uttarakhand Festival being held at Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, Parvatiya Sanskritik Upvan (near Khatu Shyam Temple, Goma Ghat), the poets who came for the Kavi Sammelan recited their compositions and through poems raised many questions on today’s system and social scenario in a beautiful manner.
There is a huge crowd at the festival venue at the stall of handicraft products, clothes from Gujarat and Rajasthan, Uttarakhandi jewellery, Kashmiri shawls, woollen clothes, blankets, pickles, dalmoth, Bal Mithai, chocolates, singodi, American corn, Meerut’s sheets, Uttarakhand Maha Parishad’s women self-help group etc.
Maha Parishad’s General Secretary Bharat Singh Bisht expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the immense support of State Bank of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India Limited, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited and SBI Life.
Organic products of Uttarakhand – pulses – ghat, black and white bhatt, white and red rajma, masoor, jambu, gandredi, rains, urad, red rice, radish, gaderi, gethi, ginger, garlic, raw turmeric etc. are also being sold in large quantities at some stalls.
Media in-charge Rajendra Singh Kanwal said that the specialty of ghat dal, which is also called kulthi, is that if it is cooked well in water and its water is consumed for a few days, then stone disease can be cured, since its nature is hot, in old times it was used to break rocks.
This evening, Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, former MP Prayagraj and PC Joshi and the officials of Uttarakhand Maha Parishad lit the lamp. Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi was welcomed by presenting a flower bouquet, shawl and a symbol. On this occasion, Convenor-Diwan Singh Adhikari, President-Harish Chandra Pant, Senior Vice President-Mangal Singh Rawat, Vice President-Mahesh Chandra Rautela, General Secretary-Bharat Singh Bisht, Secretary-Rajesh Bisht, Jagat Singh Rana, VK Joshi, Bhuvan Patwal, Bhuvan Pathak, Awadhesh Kothari, Ramesh Adhikari, Pan Singh, Surendra Singh, Kailash Singh, Sunil Upreti, Mohan Pant, Ashok Aswal, Pankaj Kharkwal, Madan Singh, Suresh Pandey, Naveen Verma and many other officers and members were present.
Today at 2 PM, solo dance competition was conducted under the direction of Pushpa Vaishnav, in which students of Seva Sankalp Sansthan Paharpur participated, Vidushi Prajapati-First, Jaya-Second, Akshita-Third. Judges of the competition were Sita Negi and Heera Bisht. Today at 3 PM, poster competition was organized by Pragati Infotech Charitable Trust. In which 30 children participated in the age group of 16 to 22 years. In which the winners were first- Pragati Chaudhary, second- Sakshi Sashwat, third- Aditya Singh Rawat. 15 children participated in the age group of 08 to 15 years in which the winners were first- Partha, second- Mohini Kashyap and third- Anubhuti.

In the presence of Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, former MP Prayagraj, on the occasion of birth centenary year of late Kamla Bahuguna, all the poets who came to the Kavi Sammelan this evening in her memory were first of all honored and felicitated in the traditional way and seated on the stage. The poets recited one poem after another from their quiver and also fired satirical arrows. The Kavi Sammelan was presided over by senior poet- Sarvesh Asthana.
Sarvesh Asthana- There is a lot of conflict in relationships, but there is a lot of love in them- recited a beautiful poem about family harmony. Mukul Mahan – It is believed that our country has failed in Olympics- recited his beautiful composition satirizing sports. Gajendra Priyanshu – I have spent my life somehow, expressed my love for you through a lovely poem. Special prayer – The whole world will be filled with happiness, we just have to maintain love in relationships – expressed the idea of establishing love in the whole world through a poem. Ghanananda Pandey ‘Megha’ – Since the time I have met you my friend, I have become pure now- beautifully described the story of love of a friend. On this occasion Dhan Singh Mehta Anjaan – The splendor of the world is getting scattered, the breath of the winds is getting blown away, expressed concern through poetry on the serious unrest going on in the world. Narayan Pathak and Abhay Singh Nirbhik also recited poetry.
All the poets entertained the audience a lot and also fired sarcastic arrows. Karaoke singing competition under the leadership of Poonam Kanwal in which Aiman Farooqui, Seema Virmani, Shahar Javed Farooqui, Akarsh Singh Suryavanshi, Adhkiva Srivastava and Anita Singh gave performances. Bhajan by Geeta Paliwal, folk dance by Sneha Kumari and Jyoti, Pahadi mashup under the leadership of Ganga Negi Indiranagar, dance of Priyanka Negi in the song Main Pahadan, Jhumki dance by Avni Bisht and folk mashup by Karishma Bisht were highly appreciated. Bollywood dance by Rohini Janvi, Kumaoni folk song-Sur-Sur Hawa Chali Re by Haritima Pant, Hey Kalratri Hey Kalyani by Eegani Mishra, Awadhi folk song-Pahile-Pahile Hum Kaini Chhath Maiya Vrat Tohar by Haritima Pant, Hey Mere India by Ananya Tiwari, Rekha-Dance with Fun enthralled the audience with their performances. From 6 pm:- In Jhoda competition 1. Sugamou Indira Nagar under the leadership of Ganga Negi, 2. Renu Kandpal Kumaonchal Nagar (first), 3. Kumaonchal Nagar (second) under the leadership of Meena Adhikari and Kamala Chuphal, 4. Under the leadership of Deepa Airi Telibagh – all the four teams presented traditional Jhoda dance and introduced their folk art.
In the second round of Dance Uttarakhand Dance, Season-3, four teams 1. Umang Group Kalyanpur under the leadership of Sushila Negi, 2.
Uttarakhand Maha Parishad Rangmandal under the leadership of Mahendra Galakoti and Aashu Raturi 3. Johar Team Vikas Nagar under the leadership of Nanda Rawat 4. Dev Bhoomi Jan Sarokar Cultural Committee under the leadership of Balwant Vangi enthralled the audience by giving beautiful dance performances and made every effort to make it to the next round.
With the support of Culture Department, Uttarakhand Government, the artists of Nayi Dishayan Nainital, Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Kishan Lal, entertained the audience by presenting a beautiful performance of Uttarakhand’s folk art.
