LUCKNOW – Umed Kumar from Chandimandir, Haryana, has established a commanding three-shot lead at the PGTI NEXGEN event in Lucknow. After firing a two-under 68 in the second round, the 24-year-old’s total score stands at five-under 135 at the Lucknow Golf Club.
Despite an early double-bogey, Kumar, a previous winner on the PGTI NEXGEN circuit, made a remarkable recovery thanks to his exceptional putting. “My putting was the highlight of my round today,” he said, crediting a recent change of putter. He believes that if he can maintain his strong performance, he stands a good chance of winning the title.

Meanwhile, local favorite Sanjeev Kumar carded an even-par 70, holding his second-place position with a total score of two-under 138. Teenager Abhimanyu Dhara of Panchkula finished the day in third place at even-par 140. A cut was made at 10-over 150, with 37 professionals advancing to the final round.
