New Delhi – Senior Congress leader and former MP Dr. Udit Raj launched a scathing attack on the Modi-led NDA government on the completion of its 11-year tenure, accusing it of failing to deliver on its grand promises and branding the administration as “ineffective and misleading.”
In a direct media interaction, Udit Raj reminded the public of the pre-2014 assurances made by Narendra Modi, particularly the commitment of ₹15 lakh in every citizen’s account, the development of 100 smart cities, and homes for all by 2022. “These were never meant to be fulfilled,” he said, labeling them “mere political slogans” that have not materialized on the ground even after more than a decade in power.
“Modi asked for 60 months. Now after 132 months, there is still no sign of employment, inflation control, or transparent governance,” said Udit Raj. “The promises remained on paper. The reality hasn’t changed.”
Questions Raised on Foreign Policy and POK
Commenting on recent remarks by RSS veteran Indresh Kumar, Udit Raj questioned India’s global standing and diplomatic strength.
“If not a single global power stands with India during tensions with Pakistan, what kind of world leadership are we talking about?” he asked.
He pointed out that it was former U.S. President Donald Trump who brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan—not India’s diplomatic pressure. “Not responding to such interference reflects a lack of strategic maturity. This is shameful,” Udit Raj stated, while praising India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for integrating Kashmir, Poonch, and Rajouri into the Indian Union.
On Karnataka Tragedy and Government Accountability
Udit Raj also weighed in on the tragic stampede incident during an RCB event in Karnataka. Supporting CM Siddaramaiah’s strong stance, he said,
“The state government took immediate action — suspensions, transfers, arrests — but the event organizers must be held accountable too. The Chief Minister is right.”
Reaction to Raja-Sonam Raghuvanshi Case
Addressing the controversial and brutal Raja-Sonam case that has drawn national attention, Udit Raj condemned the incident and emphasized the need for evolving societal awareness.
“If Sonam was in love with someone else, she should have taken her parents into confidence. Society is changing, and we need education and awareness to prevent such heinous acts,” he added.
Beginning of Congress’s Offensive Ahead of 2029?
This strong critique is being seen as the launch of the Congress party’s renewed campaign against the BJP’s third consecutive term. Udit Raj’s attack spanned unfulfilled promises, foreign policy failures, and major social issues, indicating a broad strategy to question the Modi government’s accountability and performance across all fronts.
As BJP prepares to present its 11-year report card, the opposition’s counter-narrative is gaining momentum — one that challenges the very foundation of Modi’s political image and the delivery of the so-called “Acche Din.”
