Lucknow: A two-day National Conference on Complementary and Alternative Therapies (NCCAT-2026) was held at Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), Lucknow Campus. Organised by the Amity Institute of Biotechnology, the conference brought together academicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and students to deliberate on recent developments in biotechnology, complementary medicine, and allied sciences.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) H. B. Singh, Advisor-cum-Coordinator, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and former Head, Department of Plant Pathology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), along with Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus, and other dignitaries. The inauguration included the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht highlighted the importance of alternative therapies in daily life and emphasised their role in promoting holistic health and well-being. Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Srivastava, Deputy Dean (Research), AUUP, underlined the value of interdisciplinary research and academic collaboration in addressing contemporary healthcare challenges. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) H. B. Singh encouraged researchers to adopt sustainable and innovative approaches in scientific research. He emphasised that multidisciplinary collaboration was crucial for achieving significant breakthroughs. The Book of Abstracts of NCCAT-2026 was also formally released during the inaugural session.
The first day featured keynote lectures and technical sessions. Rajesh Gupta, Reiki Master and Spiritual Guide, spoke on “The Science and Practice of Meditation.” Priyanka Chawla, Divine Light Meditation and Healing Center, delivered a lecture on “Importance of Meditation and Forgiveness,” highlighting how these practices aid stress relief and inner peace.

Jyoti Gupta, Holistic Life Coach and Yoga Practitioner, presented on “The Natural Healing System of Reiki: Principles, Practice and Scientific Perspectives.” Dr. Pankaj Srivastava, Homeopathic Physician, discussed metabolic bone disorders and homeopathic approaches to rickets and osteomalacia, followed by Dr. Ravi Singh, who explained the role of individualised homeopathic treatment in selected surgical conditions.
Poster presentations and oral sessions provided a platform for students and young researchers to present their work and interact with experts. The day concluded with discussions and networking among participants.
NCCAT-2026 reflected Amity University’s commitment to promoting research excellence, innovation, and meaningful academic exchange in the field of complementary and alternative therapies.
