Lucknow: Ashiyana police have arrested two men allegedly involved in snatching a woman’s mangalsutra nearly three weeks ago. The accused, identified as Vishal Khatri and Vipin Yadav alias Rahul, were found in possession of a stolen scooter and a fragment of the gold chain taken during the incident.
According to Ashiyana Inspector Chhatrapal Singh, on the evening of October 30, two men riding a scooter had snatched a woman’s mangalsutra and fled the scene. After sustained surveillance and search operations, a police team apprehended the duo near the Devi Kheda Sugarcane Research Centre on Monday night.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they carried out chain-snatching incidents using a stolen scooter. Based on their information, the police recovered the vehicle used in the crime.
Further investigation is underway, and the suspects are being questioned for their involvement in other similar offences.
