Gopalganj — In a shocking cybercrime incident that shook the nation, two accused have been arrested from Gopalganj for creating and sharing an obscene video of the wife of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was martyred in the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The video was produced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and circulated on social media, causing widespread outrage.
The accused, Mohibul Haq and Gulam Jilani, were apprehended following a joint operation by Haryana and Bihar police from Dhobwaliya village under the Manjha police station jurisdiction. They had uploaded the fabricated video on a YouTube channel named ‘SS Real Point’ using AI technology.
The cybercrime case was registered at the Cyber Police Station in Gurugram. During the investigation, law enforcement tracked the video’s digital signature and location data to identify the culprits. Haryana Police, with assistance from Gopalganj police, arrested the duo.
Gopalganj Superintendent of Police, Awadhesh Dixit, stated that several digital devices, including laptops and mobile phones, were seized from the accused. Interrogations revealed that they have targeted several others in similar cybercrimes. Police are gathering more information on their criminal history and other potential victims.
After their court appearance, both accused were sent to Gurugram on transit remand, where further legal proceedings will take place. Authorities emphasized that this case is not merely cybercrime but an attack on the dignity of a martyr’s family, which has deeply shocked the entire nation.
Police have assured that perpetrators of such heinous crimes will be dealt with strictly and will not be spared under any circumstances.
