Washington— U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in four weeks, with agricultural trade — particularly soybeans — set to be a key agenda item.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump criticized China for halting soybean purchases, which he said has hurt American farmers. “Our soybean farmers are suffering because China is not buying, only to use it as a bargaining tool. We have collected so much money through tariffs that we will use a small portion of it to support our farmers. I will never let them down,” Trump wrote.
He also accused his predecessor Joe Biden of failing to enforce trade agreements with Beijing. “Lazy Joe Biden did not implement our deal under which China was supposed to buy billions of dollars of U.S. farm products, especially soybeans,” Trump said, adding, “Everything is going to be great. I love our patriots, and every farmer is one of them. When I meet President Xi in four weeks, soybeans will be a major discussion point. Let’s make soybeans and other row crops great again!”
The remarks come shortly after Trump confirmed that Xi had approved the TikTok deal, allowing the video-sharing platform to continue operating in the United States under strict conditions.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office last month, Trump said, “I had a good conversation with President Xi. He approved the TikTok deal. We are waiting to sign it — it may just be a formality. The investors are ready, and the deal is happening.”
Trump emphasized that the U.S. will maintain tight control over TikTok. “Our control will be very strong. It’s an amazing platform. I performed very well on it, which gave me numbers no one had ever seen before. Young people want it, their parents want it, so we were able to reach this agreement with China. This is a great deal for us — and hopefully for them too,” he said.
Trump also thanked Xi for his cooperation, calling him a “gentleman” and highlighting the positive working relationship between the two leaders.
