Lucknow: A tragic incident occurred early today when a fire broke out in flats at Rohtas Apartment, Ravindrapalli, near Nilgiri Chauraha on Ayodhya Road. The incident took place around 7:09 AM, when the control room received an emergency call reporting a fire in Flats 73 and 74.
Police and fire officials, including the Officer-in-Charge of Ghazipur and HAL Police Post, immediately rushed to the scene. The flats belong to Haseen Ahmed, and the fire was reported in Flat 74, residence of Syed Mohammad Ammar Rizvi.
During the fire, 45-year-old Nida Rizvi, wife of Syed Mohammad Ammar Rizvi, jumped from the terrace in panic, sustaining severe head injuries. She was rushed to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Syed Mohammad Ammar Rizvi (50) was also hospitalized for treatment, while their daughter, 20-year-old Zara Rizvi, was safely rescued from the apartment with the help of the fire brigade.
Five fire brigade vehicles worked promptly at the scene and successfully brought the fire under control. The situation is now reported as normal.
Legal formalities and documentation, including the post-mortem report, are underway.
