Lucknow: The Lucknow Traffic Police Department has announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the New Year celebrations on 31st December 2024. The diversions will be effective from 2:00 PM on 31st December until the completion of the events. The detailed arrangements are as follows:
1. Traffic Diversions
- Routes Towards Hazratganj:
- Vehicles coming from Mahanagar, Gomtinagar, or Dainik Jagran Chauraha can proceed via Sikandarbagh Chauraha towards Hazratganj. In special cases, diversions at Sikandarbagh may redirect traffic via Sahara Ganj and Chiraiyya Jheel.
- Restricted Routes from Sahara Ganj:
- No traffic from Sahara Ganj Tiraaha will be allowed towards Dunlop Tiraaha, Police Commissioner’s residence, or Alka Tiraaha. Instead, vehicles will use Sikandarbagh or Chiraiyya Jheel Tiraaha to reach their destination.
- Routes Around Dunlop Tiraaha:
- Traffic from Dunlop Tiraaha or Police Commissioner’s residence is restricted towards St. Francis, Bank of India, or Alka Tiraaha. Alternate routes via Sahara Ganj or Sapru Marg will be operational.
- Hazratganj Restrictions:
- Traffic from Hazratganj cannot proceed towards Alka Tiraaha, Mayfair Tiraaha, Parivartan Chowk, or Subhash Chowk. Vehicles must divert via Sapru Marg, Dunlop Tiraaha, Sahara Ganj, Chiraiyya Jheel, and Sankalp Vatika.
- Charbagh to Parivartan Chowk:
- Traffic from Charbagh towards Parivartan Chowk via Hazratganj is restricted. Diversions through Hussainganj, Odeon Cinema, or Kaiserbagh will be operational.
- Traffic from Aliganj/Mahanagar:
- Vehicles coming via Parivartan Chowk cannot proceed beyond KD Singh Babu Stadium, Hindi Sansthan, or Mayfair Tiraaha. They will be diverted via Stadium Tiraaha, Chiraiyya Jheel, Sankalp Vatika, or Kaiserbagh.
- Routes Around Valmiki Tiraaha:
- No traffic from Valmiki Tiraaha can proceed right. Vehicles must turn left towards DM’s residence, Press Club, and Parivartan Chowk.
- Nawal Kishore Road:
- Traffic from Leela Talkies Tiraaha cannot proceed towards Bank of India Tiraaha and must use alternate routes via Income Tax Building or St. Lawrence Colony.
- Lalbagh Chauraha:
- Traffic from Lalbagh cannot proceed towards Mayfair or Alka Tiraaha and will use Camper Road or Capital Tiraaha.
- Roadways/City Buses from Mahanagar:
- Buses will be diverted via Sankalp Vatika, Baikunth Dham, Gandhi Setu (1090), Golf Club Chauraha, and Bandariyabagh Chauraha.
- Ayodhya Road Buses:
- Roadways buses will avoid Sikandarbagh and Hazratganj, taking routes via Baloo Adda, Baikunth Dham, Sankalp Vatika, and Chiraiyya Jheel.
- Shahid Path Restrictions:
- Traffic towards Plassio Mall is prohibited via Ekana Ramp and Tender Palm Ramp. Vehicles must use Sultanpur Road via HCL Tiraaha.
2. Parking Arrangements
- Multilevel Parking at Hazratganj: Vehicles from Telibagh, Cantt, and Gomtinagar will park here via the designated in-gate, exiting via Nawal Kishore Road.
- Underground Parking (Municipal Office): Vehicles from Aminabad, Kaiserbagh, Charbagh, and Rajajipuram will use this facility.
- Underground Parking (Sarojini Naidu Park): Visitors from Aliganj and Chowk can use this parking facility.
- Sahara Ganj Mall Parking: Vehicles can enter only via Sapru Marg or Chiraiyya Jheel.
3. No Parking/No Stopping Zones
Additional no-parking zones include:
- Hazratganj Chauraha to Alka Tiraaha, Mayfair Tiraaha, Lalbagh, Halwasia, and Hindi Sansthan.
- Sapru Marg Tiraaha to Dunlop Tiraaha and Sahara Ganj Tiraaha.
- Sikandarbagh Chauraha to Chiraiyya Jheel Tiraaha.
4. Heavy Vehicle Restrictions
Heavy vehicles (excluding roadways buses) are prohibited from entering the city until 2:00 AM on 1st January 2025.
Emergency Provisions
Ambulances, fire services, school buses, and hearse vans will be allowed on restricted routes if no alternative route is available. In emergencies, the public can contact the traffic control helpline at 9454405155.
The police urge citizens to cooperate and plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience.
