Lucknow – The local police team was honoured by members of the Akhil Bharatiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal on Monday for successfully busting a gang of thieves that had been targeting examinees outside Pawan Online Exam Centre in Krishna Nagar.
According to Suresh Chhablani, President of the Mandal’s Lucknow unit, three seasoned criminals who were stealing from students’ two-wheelers while they were inside appearing for exams, were apprehended by the police. The gang had been stealing mobile phones, wallets, ATM cards, and other valuables from parked vehicles, causing concern among students and local traders alike.
Police investigations revealed two major thefts in the area:

On June 11, a student’s scooter was targeted and jewellery, cash, and a mobile phone were stolen.

On July 7, another student’s scooter was looted of a phone and two ATM cards, with money subsequently withdrawn from the victim’s bank accounts.
Following complaints, a special team was formed, and acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the gang leader and two accomplices, recovering stolen items and solving both cases.
In recognition of the swift and efficient police action, ACP Vikas Kumar Pandey, Station Officer Pradyumn Kumar Singh, SI Badal Singh, and the investigating team were felicitated with shawls and bouquets by members of the trader community.
The felicitation was led by Suresh Chhablani, along with Vicky Lakhmani (State Working Committee Member), Anuj Gautam (General Secretary), and Ved Ratan Srivastava. Expressing gratitude, they said the arrests had brought relief to students and business owners alike.
Prominent traders present at the event included Ankit Jain, Sant Ram Chandwani, Dr Anil Chandani, Deepak Rajdev, Kawal Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Sujeet Yadav, Ritesh Kevalani, Mahesh Talreja, and Pooran Rajpal, among others.
The community lauded the police for their proactive approach and called for continued vigilance to ensure a safer environment around educational institutions.
