Lucknow | In a proactive move to ensure the safety of traders, the Adarsh Vyapari Association held a meeting in Purnia focusing on the security and law-and-order concerns of the city’s gold and jewelry merchants.
During the session, traders urged the Lucknow Police Commissionerate’s ADCP North, Gopinath Soni, to increase police patrolling in key markets. The meeting also addressed issues of harassment faced by the traders, with the association emphasizing the need for constant vigilance against antisocial elements.
The organization’s president, Rajesh Soni, along with Trans Gomti chapter president Sheelu Jaiswal, highlighted the persistent challenges and threats faced by sarrafa (gold and jewelry) traders in the area. Discussions also covered the broader aspects of merchant safety, proactive policing, and maintaining law and order in busy market zones.
Rajkumar Rawat, the zonal president, called for strict monitoring of antisocial activities in commercial areas to protect traders and shoppers alike.

The meeting saw the participation of ACP Aliganj, Station House Officer Aliganj Ashok Sonkar, senior officials of the association including Ved Rajvanshi, Vijay Rastogi, Dr. R.K. Verma, Avinash Jaiswal, and Indiranagar chapter president Akash Agrawal, along with numerous other traders.
Traders emphasized that heightened patrolling and rapid response mechanisms are essential to safeguard commerce and instill confidence among business communities in Lucknow’s markets.
